The Village at St. Mary's Phase I
St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas
The Village at St. Mary's multi-phase student housing development that will ultimately replace seven aging residence halls with a contemporary living community.
The main goal of the Périgueux (pear + egg + go) Hall project is to increase the retention of juniors and seniors living on campus and promote St. Mary's University as a place where students live and grow into adulthood. The number of juniors and seniors living on campus has increased every year with the opening of Périgueux Hall.
Périgueux Hall completes Phase 1 of the Village at St. Mary's development, providing 232 beds in suite-style housing.
The four-story building contains suites with four private bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The suites have furnished living rooms and kitchenettes with a table and chairs and a full size refrigerator and microwave. Each floor has central laundry facilities and a "floor lounge" which provides a full kitchen, social space and group study rooms.
Shared amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, sand volleyball court, hammock garden, bocce ball court, grill station/picnic area and fire pits.
Construction of Phase 1 was completed for the start of the fall semester in 2017.
