PROJECT OVERVIEW
Hasenstab Hall Renovation (Old Music Hall)
Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota Built in 1915, the building was originally home to the Music Department, where grand pianos and many other instruments filled the practice spaces with music. In 2017, the Music Department relocated to the Music and Performance Commons Addition to the Weitz Center, and the Old Music Hall became office transition space for faculty and staff for several years. In 2021-22 the building received a top to bottom renovation and was renamed Hasenstab Hall. The newly renovated spaces now serve as office and support areas for the Political Science Department. There are also teaching and collaborative meeting spaces incorporated in the basement level and on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. During renovations care was taken to preserve much of the original architecture, while giving the spaces new life with updated electrical, mechanical, HVAC and lighting and incorporating the latest in audio visual and systems technology. Budget $9,189,000 Square Footage 16,805 sf renovation |
